Yes slavery does still exist. In Thailand shed owners are forcing people to work in shed's with little to no pay. The shed owner would beat them and when one wanted to go eat the shed owner will hold someone back they love, I suppose, so they would't run away. The owners of these shed aren't getting prosecuted.

Yes slavery does still exist. For example in the article "Shrimp peeled by slaves" They said "No.31 and his wife". Back then they also use to give slaves a different name in Thailand they give them numbers. Secondly, it says "trapped with nearly 100 other Burmese immigrants." Shows they're many more slaves in the factory. The also forcing people to work in shed's with little to no pay. Lastly, the shed owners would beat them.

Yes slavery still does exist. According to the article, "We had to get up at 3 in the morning and then start working continuously,"We stopped working around 7 in the evening. We would take a shower and sleep. Then we would start again." this is exactly child labor, these kids are been forced to do something they don't want to do. this is exactly how slavery was done back in the day, had no freedom and no escape. Moreover according to the text "Children never went to school and began peeling shrimp just an hour later than adults". this shows how slavery still does exist.

Ivy i agree with you. Child labor is definitely shown in the article. The kids being pushed to do hard work and them having no voice to say they do not want to definitely reflects on slavery back then. Slavery is shown to still be existent in this article no only with the kids but with the adults as well.

I agree with Ivy because there was definitely some child labor going on in the article . The kids had no freedom and could do nothing but work . Even adults were working and had no choice . This shows slavery .

Yes slavery still does exist because in the ariticle many black had to wake up at 3 in the morning and start working non-stop. In addition , they would work from 3 am til 7 pm and then start this Same routine all over again. Also, they are forcing them to work and paying them a little bit. I can also tell they were being miss treated because in the article it say that the are trapped with nearly 100 slaves this tells me that they are packed up and struggling with all the heat and hunger. However, I believe slavery does exist today and there are many reasons to prove this claim.

Slavery still exist to this day for the same purpose which is greed in economical growth. In Thailand adults couples and even kids are forced in to labor work with only two choices death or work. slaves were called in slurs and/or dehumanised by being called by their skin color, well in thailand these people were called in numbers.

Yes I do think slavery still exists today. for example in the text it says that people had to wake up very early and get to work. It also says that they either woke up or got beaten. Based on the picture, they've expanded on the nationality that they turned into slaves. the burmese people were provided with horrible living conditions. the people are even violating the child labor laws. A labor organization estimated 10,000 children between the ages of 13-15 were sent to work in the city. the U.N says that they were also beaten.so yes slavery is still going on the U.S. the only thing that has changed is the people that they are doing it to.

Yea slavery does exist. I say this beacause in the attached article "shrimp peeled by slaves " it explains how in other countries woman are beatin amd givin awful living conditions. They wake up early hours of the morning and go straight to work having no choice to do what their told or they end up dead. Kids also waking up amd working from morning time all they till like 8 pm . so what americans are not forced to be slaves anymore , but that dousnt go for all countries or foreign people that are illegally here inhe united states. In thailand the slaves are called numbers , its not like the old days when peple were judged by their skin color

Yes slavery does still exist today. one reason why it still does is because in Thailand shed owners are forcing people to work in shed's with little to no pay. the article explain and describes how they were constantly forced to work 16 hours long and only 8 hours of sleep.children were also forced to do the same.Because they were illegal workers, the owners constantly threatened to call police to keep them in line, which made them more hesitant to try to escape.
