What i learned was that Patriots were most successful than Loyalists. If i was alive in 1776 I would have been a patriot. First because patriots were more successful attracting support. Also because patriots believed for Independence. Finally because patriots won the war of propaganda.

Good Anthony, your response points out a key part of the colonial debate surrounding independence that was taking place in 1776. As you noted, the Patriots won the war of propaganda, and ultimately garnered the more support for their cause than did the Loyalists. Winning the war of public opinion can many times be as significant as winning battles on the field (something we will explore further when we study the Vietnam War 1965-75).

what i have learned from thus article is the Thomas Paine was apart of the patriots which doesn't surprise me. if i were alive in 1776 i would b a patriot. i would be a patriot because patriots wanted independence and democracy. not only did they win the war of propaganda but they were successful at attracting support.

What i learned from this article was Thomas Paine argued for independence from Britain and the creation of a democratic republic.which was actually surprising b/c i didn't expect that from him. If i were alive in 1776 i would definitely be a patriot because most of the laws the british made for the colonists were ridiculous. Like hurting everybody and helping no one. Also The patriots stood up for themselves and their rights against England, one of the most powerful and major countries at that time. They didn’t want a foreign power telling them what to do so they decided to rebel against England.

After reading this article I learned that after being mistreated and oppressed by the Britains most of the loyalists left their home country and fled to canada. I feel that the British abused their power and gave no fair hearings of the patriots. If i lived in 1776 i would have sided with the fence- sitters because they were a group of neither side and their main purpose was to develop an equal variety of rights for both sides.

After reading the article I learned that the patriots was much more successful than the loyalist. One reason I would've been a patriot because they were much more stronger than the loyalist. Also I would've been a patriot is because they had better reasons for why you should become a patriot. The last reason is because they fought for freedom, and let's be honest, who didn't want freedom?

After reading this article I learned that the patriots was more successful then the loyalist. If I had to choose side I would be a patriot because they won the war of propaganda and they were fightin for there independence. In addition, I felt like the british felt like the British had too much power over the patriots and they would never listen to what the patriots had to say or what they believed should happen for their independence. However, The patriots did not want England to have power over them, so they rebelled and fought for their rights. Lastly, the patriots were successful at attracting support.

After reading the article what i learned was patriots where much more successful at gaining support. Also i learned that about 80,000 fled to either Canada or Britain during or after the war. I would of been a patriot. I would like to have independence from Britain and stop paying taxes plus much more people was on the patriots side then the loyalists

I learned that the Patriots stood up against one of the most powerful countries at that time, England, for theirs rights. They didn't want England, or any foreigner, telling them what to do, so they rebelled against England. I also learned that the Patriots were most successful than the loyalist.

After reading this article I learned that the patriots where more successful. If I had to pick a side i'll pick to be apart of the patriots. I'll pick to be apart of the patriots because they got support from more people. Also they were fighting for something almost everyone wanted, which was freedom

The patriots fought long and hard for their independence and won successfully. The patriots also had More help which is one of the reasons they succeeded. If I was alive in 1776 I would have definitely been a Patriot.

Whole reading this I learned tha more people were moderate tha loyalists or patriots. This was very ironic because in class during the debate, more people became moderates at the end of the day. I would have stayed a loyalist because I need my protection

I learned that most of the less fortunate British people were patriots because they had nothing to lose . They wanted to push for independence , that was their main goal. I personally would have been a moderate because I believe eventually they would've been able to find some sort of compromise & avoid war (death of people) .
